Holy Spirit

In March of 2020, I started attending the morning prayer meetings at Radiant. As I listened to Pastor Lee pray and the worship team pour out the music of their soul, I felt power. It was during these prayer meetings that I found out about Radiant School of Ministry. I wrestled with applying to RSM for a few months. I phoned my family and picked their brains, prayed, and quietly thought about if the school was for me.

After a Sunday service, I saw Pastor Jon Zondervan and walked up to him, introduced myself, and explained my situation. He asked to hear my testimony and I shared it with him. Afterwards, he offered to be a reference on my application, so I finally took the step and applied!

I have not experienced the voice of God, the calling of the Lord, the relationship with Christ, or spirit empowered works until going through RSM. Pastor Zac and Pastor Sonny started the semester by teaching the foundation of how we are to be intimate with Christ, and who we are in His eyes and who we were created to be. In those weeks, I experienced an extreme downloading of what it means to have a relationship with Christ. The love He has for me, and the gifts He has in store for me were illuminated in a way I had never understood before. I knew I had something to share.

Nearing the end of my time at Radiant School of Ministry, I found out my friend was pregnant. I was overjoyed for her, but soon they shared that her baby had a rare disease and the baby most likely wouldn’t live long after birth. As the weeks carried on, the news became even grimmer. She called me in tears and told me the doctors gave her the option of aborting the baby. The call immediately brought me back to my past struggles of going through with more than one abortion. The guilt and shame I had carried tore me up. I did not want my friend to go through that.

My friend had one more test result to see before they had to make the choice. Even though I knew she didn’t have a relationship with Christ, every time she called and cried to me I would pray for her. I continued to listen to her and she explained how one of her old co-workers told her she needed to have hands laid upon her and the baby to pray for healing. But being in the middle of a pandemic, this didn’t seem possible. When she was done talking, all I could do was ask to pray for her again. So I prayed, in Jesus’s holy name, filled with the holy spirit, for the Lord to heal the baby. I prayed that He would cast out the sickness and evil works and give my friend peace. ‘Make the baby whole again’, we cried.

At the next test, it showed that her baby was perfectly healthy with no more complications! Our God is a miracle working God! We screamed and shouted for joy. I told her she just experienced a miracle and that God loves her. Through this work, my friend now wants to know more about the Lord, is interested in being saved, and she has even attended a weekend service!

The power of the holy spirit in prayer is incredible. Through the Radiant School of Ministry I learned to lean into Him, and to hear His words for me. I have had revelation after revelation of who I am meant to be in Him. Through RSM, I have been given strength beyond what I thought I had in me. I have been a pillar in my family in times of grief, and have been given so many opportunities to share the love of God with my children. My faith has even lit a fire in those around me, allowing God’s love to spread throughout my friends and family!

I will say, without my knowledge and training within the Radiant School of Ministry, I do not believe I could be standing as strong within my faith as I am now. Being surrounded by people who are on fire for God, having experiences spreading the gospel, and hearing testimonies from people who followed God’s will for their life even when they did not understand has had a tremendous impact on me. Without a doubt, I can say that I was meant to be in RSM and the deeper I walk into the water, the more I float in God’s grace and mercy.
