The Power of Unity: Corporate Anointing
Gathering corporately doesn’t diminish your personal calling—it actually fulfills it.
Speaker: Pastor Lee Cummings
Date: March 1, 2026
When people come together in shared faith, something powerful happens. Being part of a community doesn’t take away your personal purpose—it helps bring it to life. Pastor Lee Cummings talks about the church’s call to live and work together in unity.
Here's a 5-day devotional guide based on this sermon:
Day 1: The Anointing Within You
Reading: 1 John 2:20–27
Devotional: You are not powerless. The moment you accepted Christ, the Holy Spirit took residence within you, bringing with Him the anointing—God's empowering presence. This isn't reserved for pastors or worship leaders; it's yours. The anointing enables you to do work beyond your natural ability, to discern truth, and to walk in supernatural power. Today, reject the lie that you're ordinary or insignificant. You carry the presence of the living God. Ask yourself: "What has God anointed me to do?" Then step out in faith, knowing the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, equipping you for divine purpose.
Day 2: Together We Are Stronger
Reading: Acts 2:1–4, 42–47
Devotional: The early church turned the world upside down not because of individual brilliance, but because of corporate unity. When 120 believers gathered in one accord, heaven responded with power. Like geese flying in formation, we go further together than we ever could alone. Your personal anointing is powerful, but when unified with other believers around a common vision, it becomes nuclear. The corporate anointing multiplies grace, breaks strongholds, and releases unstoppable momentum. Don't isolate yourself. Your gifts, prayers, and presence matter to the body. Where can you align yourself more fully with God's people? Unity isn't uniformity—it's hearts joined around Jesus and His mission.
Day 3: Where Unity Commands Blessing
Reading: Psalm 133
Devotional: God doesn't just appreciate unity—He commands blessing where it exists. The imagery is stunning: precious oil flowing from the head down to every part of the body. When we align under Christ our Head, and submit to godly leadership, the anointing flows to every member. This isn't about hierarchy; it's about harmony. Unity positions us for supernatural favor, power, and resources. Conversely, division blocks the flow. Today, examine your heart: Are you harboring offense, pride, or competition? These toxins poison corporate anointing. Choose humility. Choose to bear with others in love. Choose to protect unity, for there God commands life-giving blessing that impacts cities and nations.
Day 4: Walking Worthy of Your Calling
Reading: Ephesians 4:1–16
Devotional: You've been called—not just individually, but corporately. Paul urges believers to walk worthy of this calling with humility, gentleness, patience, and love. Why? Because unity doesn't happen accidentally, it must be eagerly maintained. The enemy's primary tactic is division because he knows unified believers are unstoppable. Your responsibility isn't just to pursue personal holiness but to protect corporate unity. This means choosing forgiveness over offense, collaboration over competition, and mission over personal preference. When each member functions in their unique gifting while honoring others, the whole body grows in maturity and power. How are you contributing to unity or division? Walk worthy today.
Day 5: The Multiplied Power of Agreement
Reading: Matthew 18:18–20; Acts 4:23–31
Devotional: Jesus promised that where two or three gather in His name, He is present. The early church experienced this when they prayed together—the place shook, and they were filled with boldness. Corporate prayer and agreement release exponential power. Your individual prayers matter, but when God's people unite in prayer around His purposes, breakthrough accelerates. The corporate anointing brings heightened presence, increased authority, synergy of gifts, and overflowing resources. This week, commit to praying with other believers—in your small group, with your family, or at corporate gatherings. Align your faith with theirs. Watch what God does when His people come together in one accord, seeking His face and His kingdom.
